Guy humbled by strong local support
Nathan Guy says he is proud and humbled to be re-elected as Otaki MP with such a strong majority.
“I’m passionate about representing the people of Kapiti and Horowhenua in Parliament, and it’s great to have their support for another three years,” says Mr Guy.
Mr Guy won the seat with a majority of 7334 on the night, with another 1931 special votes still to be counted.
“It’s a privilege to be the local MP and something I will never take for granted. I'm humbled by the great result locally, and for National.
“This result is a strong endorsement of the Kapiti expressway and Transmission Gully. My focus for the next three years is going to be on maximising the local benefits from these projects, and on the expanded rollout of Ultra-Fast Broadband.
“I also want to thank all my hard working volunteers who helped make this result so memorable. We have an exciting three years ahead.”
Mr Guy first won the seat of Otaki in 2008 with a majority of 1354, before increasing that to 5231 in 2011.
