Tax Cuts Good For Local Community
Otaki MP Nathan Guy is delighted that legislation enabling tax changes passed through Parliament yesterday (11 December), delivering tax cuts on 1 April next year.
“The tax cuts will give some financial relief to hard working people in Horowhenua and Kapiti that have been struggling to get ahead,” Mr Guy says.
“The National Government is keen to let hard working New Zealanders keep more of their hard earned cash. These tax changes will reward effort and provide the right incentives to help stimulate our local economy in the Otaki electorate.”
He says the changes will provide about $18 a week to workers on the average wage, on top of the recent October tax cuts. The cuts are the start of the National Government’s plans for ongoing tax cuts through 2010 and 2011.
“This is fantastic news for hard working people in our community.”
