Paraparaumu Fire Station Opening 21 February
Minister of Internal Affairs Hon. Dr Richard Worth opened the Paraparaumu Fire Station on Saturday 21 February and was accompanied by Otaki MP Nathan Guy.
Mr Guy was very impressed with the new station.
"It's an amazing complex that has capacity for future growth. The Kapiti District will benefit from having a station covered 24 hours and 7 days a week by paid staff that are also supported by about 30 volunteers".
"The new station on Te Roto Drive is ideally located when the Western Link Road gets built as it is located in the centre of the District".
"This is another reason I'm pushing to get the Link Road started - every emergency relies on a rapid response time to save property or peoples lives".
"With over 200 lives lost in the recent bush fires in Australia - we appreciate what an important role local fire brigades all play in our
communities" Guy says.
