Infrastructure Money will make a real Difference
Otaki MP Nathan Guy is rapt that Poroutawhao School will receive $148,223 to upgrade their junior area as part of the Government’s Jobs and Growth Plan.
“Teachers, pupils and parents will benefit from these improvements. It will also provide some economic stimulus for trades people who have really noticed the economic slow down.”
“Poroutawhao School met the Ministry of Education space deficiency criteria to qualify for this package and has recently seen some positive growth in the school roll. Plans are being drawn up for the development and I’m hopeful that the project will start later this year.”
“This building programme complements an exciting year of developments for this rural school. The community hall was relocated across the State Highway (SH1) to benefit the school and intermittent flashing lights have been installed on SH1 to alert passing traffic of the schools movements”
"It looks to be a really exciting year for this progressive primary school" Guy says.
