Guy Welcomes Ministerial Role
Otaki MP Nathan Guy says it is a huge honour to join Prime Minister John Key’s Executive team as a Minister.
“I was rapt to receive a phone call from the Prime Minister offering me the opportunity to become a Minister outside Cabinet, which of course I accepted.
“The chance to be a Minister of the Crown has come sooner than I anticipated, so I intend to make the most of this opportunity and be a solid, reliable Minister in the National Government.
“My promotion follows nearly two and a half years as junior and then senior whip, a role that has given me a good understanding of parliamentary process.
"I have been appointed Minister of Internal Affairs, Associate Minister for Justice and Associate Minister of Transport. I will also be responsible for the National Library and Archives NZ."
Mr Guy will receive his Ministerial Warrant at a ceremony at 12.30 tomorrow in the Beehive.
