Youth MP selected for Otaki
Otaki MP Nathan Guy has selected Horowhenua College student Caleb Jago-Ward to take his seat at the 2010 Youth Parliament.
16 year old Caleb is a Year 12 student and already has experience on the national stage, having made it to the semi finals of “New Zealand’s Got Talent”, singing on TVNZ’s Good Morning show in 2008.
“I was blown away when I got the call from Nathan telling me I’d won the chance to be his Youth MP,” said Caleb.
“I’m excited and looking forward to an awesome experience. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to debate some major issues and meet like minded young people from across New Zealand.”
Mr Guy interviewed six candidates and says it was a tough choice to make with such talented individuals applying.
“Caleb is an outstanding individual who is talented academically and artistically. On top of his schoolwork he is also directing his College’s Stage Challenge production.”
The 2010 Youth Parliament will be held on the 6th and 7th of July.
