Guy welcomes new community funding
Otaki MP Nathan Guy has welcomed $436,845 in new funding for local organisations through the Government’s Community Response Fund.
Just under $14 million has been allocated around the country in the latest round of funding, designed to help community-based providers cope with the economic recession.
“We have many local organisations doing an outstanding job at the grassroots level. This extra funding will help them maintain their services at a time when demand is high and there is pressure on funding.
“A major priority has been budgeting, family violence, early intervention, supporting vulnerable families and helping the elderly.
“I know what a good job these groups do, and how hard it has been for them over the last few years. I’m very pleased the Government can help out because they make a real difference in people’s lives.”
