New funding for Kapiti paramedics welcomed
Otaki MP Nathan Guy has welcomed new Government funding of $230,000 for Wellington Free Ambulance’s Urgent Community Care service.
“This treat-at-home service is one of the best things to happen to healthcare on the Kapiti Coast in years.
“Paramedics have treated nearly 2000 local residents at home, saving difficult and unnecessary trips to hospital. This is better for local patients and better for the taxpayer.
“I’ve had many people tell me what a great service this is, and I’ve lobbied hard to get this extra funding. This injection will help them move towards a sustainable, long-term model.
“Urgent Community Care is a good example of the government’s vision for better, quicker and more convenient healthcare. It’s something the Kapiti community can be very proud of,” says Mr Guy.
